Hi all,

Setting up a second computer to run as well as my main tower, it has a P4000 and P400 (waiting for power cables to swap card).

I have 2 X P4000 each running 3 task simultaneously fine on my main tower.

The second computer throws up:

68    Einstein@Home    26/01/2024 16:42:32    Not requesting tasks: don't need (CPU: ; NVIDIA GPU: GPUs not usable)

but at the top has:

6            26/01/2024 16:32:58    CUDA: NVIDIA GPU 0: Quadro P4000 (driver version 538.15, CUDA version 12.2, compute capability 6.1, 8192MB, 8192MB available, 5304 GFLOPS peak)
7            26/01/2024 16:32:58    CUDA: NVIDIA GPU 1: Quadro P400 (driver version 538.15, CUDA version 12.2, compute capability 6.1, 2048MB, 2048MB available, 641 GFLOPS peak)
8            26/01/2024 16:32:58    OpenCL: NVIDIA GPU 0: Quadro P4000 (driver version 538.15, device version OpenCL 3.0 CUDA, 8192MB, 8192MB available, 5304 GFLOPS peak)
9            26/01/2024 16:32:58    OpenCL: NVIDIA GPU 1: Quadro P400 (driver version 538.15, device version OpenCL 3.0 CUDA, 2048MB, 2048MB available, 641 GFLOPS peak)

I was RDC in but read that could cause issues so set up boinctasks to monitor but that is having the same issue. The P400 originally was getting tasks but during setup I power cycled to move it around and then said GPU unusable (before I fitted the P4000) so I abandoned it due to weak performance but having the same issue on the P4000.

I have installed the latest drivers and F@H can see and run on both fine, I have tried swapping profiles and to restart both the boinc and PC.

Any Suggestions Would be appreciated.

Bob

Hey Bob, sorry that this

Hey Bob,

sorry that this first reply took us so long.  The message "GPUs not usable" is issued by the BOINC client, not by the Einstein@Home infrastructure. Looking at the relevant code it reads to me as if BOINC is detecting a remote control session being active or the Windows user not being fully logged in (desktop unlocked). If that doesn't apply to your case then the BOINC forums might be better suited to help you.

Best,
Oliver
