    Having a problem with Einstein on AMD64, using 64bit Gentoo

    When I try and download some work I get an error message saying:

    Message from server: platform 'x86_64-pc-linux-gnu' not found

    This is using BOINC compiled locally using Gentoo's Portage system. So I downloaded the official binary, BOINC version 5.2.4 for i686-pc-linux-gnu. This appears to work but the benchmarks are so much worse:

    64 bit
    Measured floating point speed 1393.78 million ops/sec
    Measured integer speed 3554.25 million ops/sec

    32 bit
    Measured floating point speed 932.97 million ops/sec
    Measured integer speed 1732.56 million ops/sec
    Is there any way of running Einstein in native 64 bit mode?

      I run Linuxos from live c/d using KDE,

            Thanks for your interest. The team has it's origins at CPDN and is quite big
            there. I joined after it appeared at LHC. (BTW, climbing the stats really fast.)
            Desti also created the team on other BOINC projects as well (during one of
            the infamous periods with no work from LHC).

            Here at Einstein the team is rather small. So your interest is really
            appreciated!
