I have BOINC 4.19 installed as a service running einstein 4.72. I don't have this machine attached to other projects. I notice that from time to tim the machine 'pauses' its foreground app for anything up to fifteen seconds. Nothing happens, then suddenly everything returns to normal.
Since I don't experience this behaviour on any other BOINC machine - and none are running einstein - it looks like some part of the processor-bound einstein code isn't releasing the processor at polite intervals.
Any comments?

Einstein 4.72 not despatching properly?

Mike, I'm not sure what's wrong. This might be related to the fact that E@h reads/writes some 10 or 20 MB sized files. This might take a few seconds. Or is perhaps related to the bug in the 4.72 app which we have fixed (now testing a new app). This bug would sometimes cause the memory use and disk footprint to grow much more than they should.

I'll keep tabs and see if I can provide anything more concrete. it's a bit tricky, since during the 'pause' the machine is totally unresponsive and once the 'pause' is over there's nothing wrong.
