when I try to add E@H to my boinc project list, nothing happens. I use exactly the info in the email I received, and I don't even get an error message.
I have no other boinc projects running.
I am running version 4.19, on Mac OSX 10.3.4, 1.6 GHz G5

I don't use Mac, but I hate to see anyone hanging here too long without an answer.
Please don't take this wrong, but just a few sanity checks.
1) You installed the Mac version of BOINC (aka boinc_4.19_powerpc-apple-darwin.gz)?
2) Can you run benchmarks in Boinc (under the file pull-down)?
3) Do these results show up under the Messages tab? (Copy and save them somewhere, might need to refer back to them.)
4) There is nothing in the Messages tab after you try to attach to the project? (Note that the message area blanks out when Boinc is fully shut down (you exit Boinc or reboot the machine).
If everything is installed right and you still don't see any kind of message after trying to attach, ping the board again and we'll try to drum up some Mac specialists to give you a hand. Good Luck!

1) yes, I am running the mac version
2) it takes me to the messages folder, not sure if that's supposed to happen
3) no, these results don't show up in the messages folder (infact, nothing does)
4) there is nothing
Any help would be apreciated

OK, I'm out of my depth on Mac, but these two links may help. The first is from Paul Buck's BOINC manual and describes in detail how to set up BOINC on Mac:
http://boinc-doc.net/site-boinc/oman-app/inst-mac.php
This one has been recommended by several BOINC Mac users:
Deep Thought is a free application that allows users to control their BOINC projects without the terminal. It is easy to use and setup. Deep Thought can be found here:
http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/math_science/deepthought.html
or here
http://www.greenkeepersoftware.com/deepThought/
One user cautions---Deep Thought has one caveat: The BOINC files have to be in ~/Library/Application Support/Boinc Data/, which means that if you have multiple users on your Mac, those users will not have access to the WUs you downloaded. If you log out and a new user logs in, Deep Thought and BOINC will ask for a new account key, project, and WU.
Making an alias so that ~/Library/Application Support/Boinc Data/ points to /Library/Application Support/Boinc Data/ (or /usr/share/boinc/ for that matter) does not get around the problem. Also, Fast User Switching will not solve the problem - It will, however, continue to run BOINC on your account while someone else is logged in (Not quite "sharing" the BOINC data).
The only "workaround" is to change permissions so that anyone can get to your BOINC data folder (and that's a security risk).
Hope those get you on the right path.

The 4.19 for the Mac is a

The 4.19 for the Mac is a pure command-line client, there is no graphical Interface (yet), so refeering to tabs etc. doesn't help.
Please take a look at the FAQ.
@Robert: Can you post the "Messages" you get?
