I came home this evening and the Menubar icon has disappeared from my iMac G5 running OS 10.3.8. No problem, says I, I'll simply reopen the BOINC Menubar and it will reappear at its usual place. It did, but now the dropdown menu says nothing is running (I checked with the Activity Monitor and Einstein is happily working away at 89 pct) all stats have disappeared too. I tried updating but doesn't seem to help. The log now says "another instance of BOINC is running" Now what? How can I get the Menubar to reflect what is actually going on? I notice that the Cogent link went down for a while today about 1400 hrs- could that be why the Menuebad disappeared from my machine?

Disappearing Menubar

Problem solved. Remembered I had this problem sometime ago. Using Activity Monitor to truely quit boinc and Menuebar then, after a brief wait, restarting Menubar gets things rolling again. Sorry-had a senior moment.
