I have found that in one of the four computers on which I am running Einstein@Home at my workplace, completed work units are not being uploaded promptly although I have set the same preference ( Connect to network every 0.025 days)for all four & network activity is always available. Why is this so ?

There an inbuilt asynchrony in the software producing this delay - largely to stop servers getting hammered.

Cheers, Mike.

I have made this letter longer than usual because I lack the time to make it shorter ...

Because of the outage last

Because of the outage last week, it may have gone into a over 160 hour hiatus. Go to your project tab, click on Einstein, and click update. This will reset that counter, and everything will go again.

I would like to add that the computer does not download & start working on the next work unit until the compleated one is uploaded. A lot of time is thus wasted as it is not possible to always update manually.

You can set your cache larger, to try and kept 2-3 units going at all time. Under Your Account, General Preferences, change "Connect to network every" to a larger number. Depending on the speed of the machine, is what you would think about. My slowest machine is at 3, the fast ones are all at 1.
