deferring communications for ?

Your computer was unable to contact the server for some reason. It will try again in 2 hours.

I guessed that but wondered if the problem was my end or the project end. It seems to be happening a great deal.

There is only one machine

There is only one machine registered from you so far and that doesn't seem to be a Mac. The last valid result from this machine came in on Mar 14, we got only client errors since then. If there is a Mac running on your account it has actually never successfully contacted the server. Check your internet connection on this machin. Also you may want to take a look at the other machine and review what changend there around Mar 14.

I do have the mac registered but under a different ID I tried amalgamating both machines under one name but I received errors.
can you advise how to overcome this problem. Is it worth me starting again with One new account?

Which errors did you

Which errors did you get?

There is no way to transfer credits or Results in progress from one account to an other, so in some sens you'll "lose" this during this procedure.

You should be able to just detach from Einstein@Home and then attach agein with the same URL and your other account key. It might be easier on the Windows Machine with the GUI, but should also work on then Mac:

* stop the client (I assume you are running 4.19): Press ctrl-c
* detach: Type: ./boinc_4.19_powerpc-apple-darwin -detach_project http://einstein.phys.uwm.edu
* attach: Type: ./boinc_4.19_powerpc-apple-darwin -attach_project

and enter the URL and the (other ) account key when prompted.
