I keep getting about 12 hour holds in communication with the project. Gives statement that master file fetch failed. I currenly have four WU that are "Ready to Report"

Could you cut and paste your message log here? That would help me to understand the problem.
Please look in account_einstein.phys.uwm.edu.xml and client_state.xml, and see how master_url and project_master_url is listed. You should see http://einstein.phys.uwm.edu/
More context around the first place where this failed (more message lines). This one is rather generic, and does not convey much information. Someplace in your logs, it should be attampting to connect and failing. That is the section of interest.

John,
Those message lines have been cleared out - so I will have to wait until the problem occurs again.
I have a feeling this problem occurs when I have shut my computer off and the project tries to communicate with me but can't find me. I guess it tries a few times and then bumps me into a 12 hour communication hold. Something like this I guess.

Communication always works the other way. Your machine initiates all contact with the server (It would be extremely difficult if not quite impossible to get through all of the different firewalls and proxies from their side.) It takes several failed communications sessions in order to generate this message. You can always attempt to generate the message manually (if in windows BOINC 4.19, right click on the project in the projects page, and select update) (If in BOINC 4.25, in the project page, select update in the left pane) (I don't know the instructions for the GUI).
Wu downloaded, have 2 queued ready to upload, but keep counging down on a defereed communications thing......... :
