IF "Gravitational Wave S6 LineVeto search (extended)" is the new S6 bucket search, if it's running or not should be defaulted off the selection for the old s6 search.
On my account it was disabled despite my having chosen to run the old s6 search.
Edit, if relevant I do have FGRP disabled and BRP4 set to GPU only.

I guess the rule is that if volunteers have chosen to make individual changes to the apps that should run (so not "run all"), then any app that is added afterwards is not activated by default. To me this sounds like a reasonable, if very conservative strategy. Anything else would have meant a mass update to the DB. I'm a bit reluctant to make such updates in an attempt to update user profiles to what WE think the volunteer most likely wants...even tho in this case it's quite reasonable to assume that anyone having the old GW search enabled will most likely also want to participate in the extension run...
Anyway, thanks for the observation, we'll discuss this internally.

Yes, I agree - if a volunteer changes the default setting for which apps to run, the project should probably assume that a 'choice' will again need to be made by the volunteer when the new app is added. However, in the announcement of the new app, the need for the volunteer to revisit the preference settings should be pointed out very clearly. People tend to forget changes they made some time ago :-).
Cheers,
Gary.
