I have running einstein@home on WINE for over 9 months now without any problems. However the new "Albert" workunits gives me "CPU time (sec) 0.00 & claimed credit 0.00", but I do get credit. What is going on?

Could be the new application can't get the CPU time. Do you see "%complete" in Boinc Manager?
Why Wine? Was is because the Linux version was so slow? Thats been fixed in the new application, if your platform is supported you might want to try that. So has the problem where mixing platforms gave "invalid results" for the odd host.
And if you like Boinc Manager under Wine better than native Linux, thats possible also. You just have to set BOINC to allow remote control - either -allow_remote_gui_rpc option when starting BOINC or put the IP address in the file remote_hosts.cfg.

Just after a WU restarts, the time and % values (current_cpu_time and fraction_done) jump to 0 for a moment in client_state.xml. If the WU gets finished just then, BOINC might not have a value for the total time.
I have seen this problem only at SZTAKI so far, it seems to have something to do with the duration of the last uninterrupted run and writing of checkpoints.
If this assumption is right, settings that might influence it would be :
- Leave applications in memory
- Switch between applications every
- Write to disk at most every

I have einstein installed in BOINC BUT Stats show no megabytes for einstein, I allowed it through the firewall and I started with SETI classic years ago. Climate prediction is present and runs fine. What to do to get einstein going? Windows XP Home Edition. I clicked the get new work button and nothing downloads for einstein

You should have one job in the work tab, probably in the state "downloading". In this case, you can retry the download in the "downloads" tab.
There are several download servers. If you're behind a firewall where you have to allow specific servers, you might not have the one enabled, that your BOINC client has choosen. Currently I see those in my client_state.xml :
