The task I'm running has been stalled for roughly 4 days. Am I going to have to reset the project or what. For the most part ,I'm not running anything else at this time. Any thoughts?
I think it's highly unlikely that you would need to reset, but you need to provide some more info to help us help you.
Open Boinc Manager and if you see the "Simple view" then please switch to the "Advanced view", then on the tasks tab what does it say about the task in the status column?
Whenever I have a stalled task a Suspend/Resume toggle will get it running again.
In the boinc manager (advanced view) select the "Tasks" tab. Select the stalled task and then press the "Suspend" button on the left. The button changes to "Resume", press it again. The progress value can jump back quite a lot (back to the previous save point I guess) but it 's better than having to abort the task.
I want to thank you for responding. The task at hand is running again. I had some up dates to add from windows so I suspended and resumed a few hours later, but CPU was still busy. In the mean time SETI sent a new task and I ran that and when that was done, Einstein resumed where it left off. That was 2 1/2 hrs ago. It had been stalled for 5 1/2 days. Had them stall before but not for 5+ days.
Thank you for responding. The problem is gone now after 5 1/2 days. I did the toggle -Suspend/Resume, That didn't help, I had already tried that. Sometimes that has worked , but not this time. In the mean time I received new work from SETI today and ran that. When that was through, Einstein started again and has been running for the past 2 1/2 hrs.
