Hi,

I am participating to several BOINC projects and the CPID was the same for Seti, CPDN and Predictor.
Unfortunately for Einstein, it gave me an other CPID number (with the common email adress). Any reason why?

Thanks,

CPID different for Einstein project

Whenever you sign up for a new project, that project will give you a new CPID. The client then picks which CPID it will use for all of the projects. In 4.19 and earlier, it would pick the numerically larger of the two values, and you could get a new CPID for everything anytime that you joined a new project. With 4.20 and later, the client chooses the CPID from the project with the oldest sign up date/time. In the case of ties the choice is made based on the URL of the project.

To get all of the CPIDs for the projects to line up again, several things must happen:

1) The emails must be exactly the same, including case. is not the same as

2) There must be a path from project server to client to project server that covers all projects that will be changed to the selected CPID.

3) Each of the project servers that will be changed to the selected CPID must be contacted for an update.

4) Each of the projects must publish the stats XML.

NOTE that some of the projects publish the internal CPID and others publish the external CPID on your account web page. The difference between the internal and external CPID is that the external CPID is generated by hashing the internal CPID with the email address. If it publishes the external CPID on your account page, it will say something like: as seen on external stats sites.

Thanks.
However, I do not understand point 2. Could you clarify?

The rest should be compliant with what I've done.

The email you have in your account has to be exactly the same.
is not the same as .
Of course it's the same in your mail program and you will recieve the mail, but the projects will read it as a different text, and hence give you two seperate CPIDs.

edit:
He who can read is better off ;)
Sorry for answering the wrong Question!

For 2 Projects on X puters, there has to be at least one with both.
For 3, it's either one with all, or 2 with 2 different (1+2 and 2+3)
and so forth...

The information must be

The information must be passed from all servers to all clients and back to get the same CPID on all projects. If there is not a path from project a to project x via a computer connected to both projects then the CPID will not match up.

For how long are you running

For how long are you running the client that is attached to both (E@H and CPDN) now? Communication will take place via this one and may, in worst case, need two server contacts to both projects. So the time that it takes also depends on your settings how often to contact the server. Maybe you simply have to wait...

Hmmm I noticed something

Hmmm I noticed something interesting in my database...

http://www.boincsynergy.com/stats/index.php?searchmember=%5BAF%3EFrance%3ESale-caractere%5D+B+B&searchteam=

If you scroll down you can notice that there are TWO members in Einstein@Home that have the name "[AF>France>Sale-caractere] B B"

I assume they are both you... and that you accidently (or intentionally)created two einstein accounts at some stage. That would mean you DO have 2x CPIDs (and possibly 3)

IS the solo PC only running E@H that 2nd account with 100 work units? If so, that will be the problem.

That's what I do not fully

Message 6463 in response to message 6462

That's what I do not fully understand. I remember only one Einstein account key sent by the project. Maybe (as I've got multiple PC) someone from home (kids...) did update one account with an other key. I am checking and will let you know.

Hmmmm... Not only that...

Hmmmm...

Not only that... the account your now posting (userid 13454) from is BRAND NEW (created in the last 24 hrs).

The only host that account has listed is this machine

"GenuineIntel Intel(R) Pentium(R) M processor 1.70GHz"

You have hidden the hosts on your SETI, CPDN and Predictor accounts... but my guess is that this machine is not listed in your host lists.
