I try to set my old Seti@home (Over 8 yrs old) account to access BOINC with the provided key information. Won't accept my account though. Should the account name be the seti name or the BOINC name?Tried all email addresses and passwords with no success. Either a solution is found or I will be removing both programmes from my network.

Sounds like your problem may be similar to this one: Message boards : Problems and Bug Reports : Adding to my projects. You might try to re-enter your password on the Seti website as ReefRaff did on Einstein. Then try attaching Seti to Boinc again. Looks like it worked for ReefRaff.

All the messages I have seen with connection to projects have received the same response, to just re-enter the password. Well what do you do when the Project Connection Wizard is asking for proxy information. I was never asked for that before. All of these problems happened when I removed the od SETI program from my system since I received notice that it would stop running in a few weeks. I cannot get BINC running with aeither of my two projects because I cannot get past this Proxy screen. Can anyone help?

I don't understand??? You seem to be crunching away for EAH as you have a credit of 1,342 and a RAC of 17??? Your computers are hidden but you must be successfully attached to have credit?? You must have BOINC running properly already.
To anyone trying to get BOINC installed and attached to a project and seeing the unexpected request for proxy information. Please realise that if you attempt to connect to a project and that project is temporarily down, or perhaps is overloaded and doesn't respond in a set time, BOINC will think that there may be a networking issue and maybe you need to connect via a proxy. If you don't use proxy information for your normal browsing activities, you wont need it for BOINC. Just cancel out of the proxy request screen and try again later.
Please also realise that you may have a firewall that is blocking your connection attempts. Make sure you allow both boinc.exe and boincmgr.exe to pass through your firewall. If you are upgrading from an earlier version of BOINC, you will probably need to give fresh firewall permissions.

I will try again. The problem was that even thoug I was running, it seemed to stopp working and I did not know why. I tried to install the latest software and then I got the proxy information screen and was not able to connect at all.

I just in stalled the latest software again and I am still getting the same problem with Einstein. In fact when I launch BOINC, I get an immediate connection failed message. I never needed any firewall permissions before so what do I do? I added the URL http://einstein.phys.uwm.edu/
and still get the proxy zcreen.

I cannot explain the fact that it is now working. I found a post on another thread that stated that they rebooted their system, then manually shut down BOINC and then started it again. I also set the system to uto check for connections. I did this yesterday and it did not work. I did it today and it worked and I am now connected.
Any explaniation would be helpful.

Boinc 5.2.10 (released as recommended maybe 1-2 hours ago) says it fixes a "connection failed issue, a firewall issue, and a wizard issue. See here under "new features".

You should not post your account key in a forum. Someone may use it maliciously.
Go to the seti site and use the account key to change your password and then try to attach using that password. The password field sometimes does not get initialized properly and changing it will fix that. The other problem is that with the current server issues at seti you may not be able to get thru to attach.
