I am curious on the stderr out messages on some results. Another participant that is working on some of the same wu's as I am has some stderr out messages that I haven't seen before:
stderr out
5.3.18

Is it perhaps because of it being version 5.3.18? It seems rather minimal. A normal one for me:
stderr out
5.2.13

Just curious is all.

Concerning stderr out

The version number told in stderr message is the BOINC client version. That person is using 5.3.18, an old development version. If he or she is a true alpha tester, it would be 5.3.27 by now.
But otherwise nothing to worry about. What you see in your stderr message is normal.

Thank you Ageless for your response. It has prompted my curiosity again... I've looked into the alpha versions but haven't been able to find anything detailing what has changed between versions. Mayhap I've not looked in the right place at the Berkley BOINC website.
edit - would getting on the email list for boinc_projects be the solution?

You can have a look at the checkin_notes via BOINC CVS.
