I added a Mac CPU to my account (the other is a WindowsXP).
After updating, I see nothing listed under the work tab, then BOINC crashed. On restart, setiathome is running, but einstein shows no new WUs. The messages tab said this:

computer is overcommitted.
Nearly overcommitted.
No work fetch policy: no work fetch allowed.
New CPU scheduler policy: earliest deadline first.

What does this mean?

Computer is overcommitted

Generally speaking, this usually means there is enonugh work already onboard the machine so that it might miss a deadline on one or more results.

My guess is BOINC wants to work off some of the SAH results first.

In any event, it's hard for us to draw any conclusions or give better advice since your hosts are hidden and you didn't give us a whole lot of info to work with. You did imply this is a new host, so a bad install is always a possibility.
