Hi folks,
I've upgraded my BOINC (Linux client) from 5.3.something to 5.8.16. After that I only get client errors with my AthlonXP CPU, others work, as you can see here.
I first thought that I downloaded a wrong version and tried an older one too, but the problem stayed. I also run SETI@home and there are no such difficulties, so it seems to be related to Einstein@home. The packages have been crunched as usual, as far as I can see. But after uploading they are marked as client error with this stderr:
5.8.16

What is this and how can I fix it?

"A Linux App (4.21) is available from our Beta Test page. It fixes one possible source of the "SIGABRT" problem. As this is actually a combination of problems, I'm not sure this fix covers all of them. Please test and report in this thread."

Hi
Since yetsreday, May 11th, the 4.21 app is an official release and should be downloaded automagically. So no need to install anything manually. BOINC will probably wait until current einstein work is finished, tho, before downloading the new version, which in fact is the right thing to do anyway.

Well, it has worked fine with the beta. I removed the XML file now, so BOINC can do exactly what you've told. If the next work will have errors again, than I now know what to do at least.
Thx a lot
