I haven't been paying attention lately, but today I noticed that I am getting no credit due to "compute errors". I also support SETI at home and have no problems.

Any (not too technical) suggestions?

In the Boinc Manager under Processor Usage, set "Use at most X cpu time" to 100%

If you use the global preferences you can set them here instead.

Thanks, I'll give it a try.

Why has this been working at 75% usage for 10 months and just went south??

This problem has surfaced also in QMC@home. It might be due to the 6,xx BOINC version. I am still using 5.10.45, so I cannot be sure.

The only time I've had it happen was on my dual core on Einstein with 5.10.45. I was crunching them for a while and then it came up out of the blue. I never gave it an oppurtunity to repeat itself, since I changed the settings right after it happened. Seems to effect folks machines differently on different projects. I've seen it on Seti and Einstein.

It's a software glitch that they're suppose to fix in 6xx though not in any of the 6.2x from what I've read.

Not in 6.4 either. It's a problem with how the throttling function works and BOINC writing the statefiles (client-state.xml and any checkpoints) to disk. It's hoped that a finer tuning of the throttling fixes it (ability to set throttling to tenths of a second).

Interesting. I have been

Interesting. I have been having the same problem with ALL of my BOINC projects and I am fully updated, AND I DID change my CPU resource utilization. I'll put them all back to 100%. This is the first time I had these problems. THANKS.
