I'm having problems with Einstein. I completed 3 tasks on the 9th. No credit and no completion .. log report suggested I may have to reset the project.. reset the project .. lost all completed work for the day of the 9th. PLUS it downloaded another 8 tasks when I had requested no new tasks. It also shows I have 2 projects due the 16th of June in my account but they do not show up in my all tasks page. Are they offline on Sundays, or just asleep at the wheel? suggestion .... A .. WARNING ** All project work in PROGRESS WILL be LOST if you RESET the project .. pop up would be a nice touch I think. Rather than the current "Do you really want to Reset the project? "

Completion and task problems.

You choose to hide your computers, which blocks someone who might wish to help you from seeing information useful to that task. If you wish to change this setting, you can find it in the Einstein preferences link from your account page on the Einstein site, with the parameter label "Should Einstein@Home show your computers on its web site?".

Without that insight, I can say that much of what troubles you concerns not Einstein, but the management software from BOINC, most likely running on your host in the form of boincmgr. That is the piece to which one addresses one's desire not to download work, the piece which requests work, the piece which displays work on your host, and which issues the warning you deem inadequate, and to which you sent your request to rest the project.

It is true that there are interactions between the actual project computations and BOINC, and I'm not claiming that I know Einstein to have had nothing to do with your issues, but I think you can more directly press your concerns on the BOINC forums, which can be found at:

Please hold your mouse over the reset button and read the mouse-over balloon. It says: Delete all files and tasks associated with this project, and get new tasks. You can update the project first to report any completed tasks.
