1st Question
I got 7 Work Units, but 2 of them has been processed here and the result never reached Einstein. The numbers of these lost Result ID´s are 8690012 and 8667865. Who takes care of them? Will someone make this job again for me? I dont know what happens and why the results of these went to the bit-bucket.
Just now i gave the signal "no new work" because:
2nd Question
I use Linux AMD64 and the Floating Point Instructions are 96x and Integer abt 16xx. I saw, that with a special Version for AMD64 speed is nearly doubled. So i would like to use it.
Can i exchange "boinc 4.19.3" with the current version without loosing all what happened before? A lot of more questions... please help and contact me via my e-mail, because it would not be of general interest.
Paul

On the website, your results list shows 5 successfully completed and two that have timed out, having exceeded the deadline. If you click on the WorkUnit ID for those two you will see that in each case a quorum of three has been formed and credit has been allocated. This means that EAH has the results it needs and the ones allocated to you are no longer a concern for anyone. Both of them show zero cpu time on your machine.

I believe you probably never had those two results in the first place. The server thinks they were sent to you but you probably never received them. They are what we call "ghost" or "phantom" work units. There has been quite a history of these over the last few months. You can do a keyword search for "ghost" or "phantom" and I'm sure you would get lots of hits because it comes up in discussion quite a bit. In your case they wont trouble you. Are you sure you actually spent any cpu time on those two? The server says you didn't.

In the "Cafe" board there is a thread about new Linux science apps which are better optimised. You might like to check out that thread.

You are currently running BOINC 4.43 and there are later developmental (and possibly buggy) versions. I've never heard of a version 4.19.3. Where did you get that number from??

Cheers,
Gary.

Thank You Gary
As You see, I am new in this "business" :-) I am sure, that these 2 WUs have been processed, but i must have done something else ... You know: the idiot is usually sitting in front of the screen ;-) But goot to hear that these 2 jobs are processed by someone else.
...
Version 4.19.3.
i was looking, searching, clicking all abt this matter and found following:
http://www.pperry.f2s.com/downloads.htm BOINC 4.19 clients - Athlon64
As you see in page http://www.pperry.f2s.com/boinc-compile.htm
Bottom:
Downloaded BOINC client:
Whetstone – 896
Dhrystone – 2155

Optimized BOINC client (percentage performance increase):
Whetstone – 1656 (85%)
Dhrystone – 2640 (22%)
That is the reason why i would like to use it. The Standard BOINC results above are quite near on my PC. Up to now i did not start it, you know: never touch a running system ...
Regards
Paul
