Hello,

Starting a few days ago with EAH I have done 6 WU and two now in progress. 50% of the finnished WU's ends up in a client error! :-(((
At SAH it also occurs sometimes, when uploading more than 2 WU at the same time
At EAH my computer is known as 933596.

Does anyone knows what causes this?

Thanks Paul

Client errors

I would say it's Windows Vista. The present versions of BOINC aren't too compatible with Vista yet. We're testing Vista compatibility with the next version of BOINC.

Although the error exit code 1073807364 (0x40010004) can be caused when you are using a graphically intensive program at the same time you're trying to run BOINC.

If you are using a graphically intensive program (voor je fotografie, misschien?), when BOINC is running, try to set BOINC to run only when the computer is idle, or suspend BOINC when you start running the program.

If you're using the screen saver, try to run without it for a while. See if it still crashes (Set the Windows screen saver to something else than BOINC, or best even, to None and shut down your monitor when you are not behind the keyboard).

Then it must be Vista. Running BOINC on a computer with XP Pro there is no problem. Even when I'm using a program like Photoshop simultaniusly.

If you want, you can test the latest version of BOINC. Try 5.9.10 and see if it works better. If you do come across problems though, report them here and on Boinc Trac. Trac needs registration. Use the New Ticket option to report problems.

I have a few computers few with Linux and the other with XP. I don't think it is caused by the OS. I had the same problem a few times. Last time It hapenned when I changed the "Resource Share".
