I have had 3 Client Error-Compute Error fairly quickly on this host and the other S5R5 WUs have gone through OK.

On one of them, this one, it looked like the crunching had nearly reached the end before defaulting.

Can someone give he an interpretation of why, and a comment on whether more are around?

STDERR.TXT says: Reason: Access Violation (0xc0000005) at address 0x0041D4CA read attempt to address 0x00000118

You might want to test your memory to see if it's going bad. A reboot never hurts either. Also, check your temps to see if you're too hot. Those dust bunnies can come out of nowhere and clog your heatsink and fans.

Memory os O/C and am rinning the rig at 4.0GHz. No errors occuring on other projects, and the system has only been up for over 7 days since last reboot

Temperatures are monitored by Real Temp 2.60 and reported as 62C; 60C; 53C and 52C.

May be a reboot is in order if more Client Errors are reported.

Thanks Randy

Different projects behave differently as far as stability under overclocked conditions is concerned. I have seen some of my overclocked machines that give the sort of errors you are seeing if the overclocking is a bit too ambitious. The solution is to back off a bit on the overclock and properly test for stability for an extended period of time.

The best action is to back off a bit. Those few extra MHz that you lose make very little difference to the crunching time. You only have to have one task fail every now and then to actually lose performance rather than gain it.

Cheers,
Gary.

Not yet reduced the O/C and

Not yet reduced the O/C and the PC in question has completed another 24 WUs error free since the issue showed it's face.

I will leave the CPU clock for a while yet.
