cant start boinc

when I try to start boinc I get the following:
$ ./boinc_4.19_i686-pc-linux-gnu
2005-04-09 20:40:18 [---] Another instance of BOINC is running
However I cant find the process that should be the running client. is it possible that the client is fooled by a lock file somwhere?

Yes, in the same directory as the executable, see if there is a file called "lockfile", if there is, simply delete it.
