Hi,
I'm a new cruncher to E@H (been doing S@H). I decided to enable GPU work on my iMac to supplement my CPU work. I installed the NVidia dev tools and got my GPU to be recognized by BOINC. But when I run, I get these errors:
Wed Jul 27 15:48:34 2011 | Einstein@Home | Sending scheduler request: To fetch work.
Wed Jul 27 15:48:34 2011 | Einstein@Home | Requesting new tasks for NVIDIA GPU
Wed Jul 27 15:48:38 2011 | Einstein@Home | Scheduler request completed: got 0 new tasks
Wed Jul 27 15:48:38 2011 | Einstein@Home | No work sent
Wed Jul 27 15:48:38 2011 | Einstein@Home | CUDA is only supported in Mac OS 10.5
Wed Jul 27 15:48:38 2011 | Einstein@Home | Opted out of BRP3 CPU
I'm not sure what they mean, since I've never run GPU work before. My E@H prefs are set to receive both Binary Radio Pulsar Search entries, plus the Gamma Ray Pulsar Search #1 (I'd post a screen cap, but the pic comes up blank in the post).
Is there something I can do on my side to get GPU work?
Thanks.
Mike

Like this? ;-) I've changed https: to http: :-)
At Einstein only when you downgrade from OS X 10.6.8 to OS X 10.5 ;-)

[edit]I was about to say you should select "Run CPU versions of applications for which GPU versions are available" in your preferences, to at least receive CPU tasks, but see Limiting BRP4 to CUDA machines in the Technical News.[/edit]

That's not my fault, it's Skitches :) I'll let them know that they're generating secure image links when they shouldn't.
If that's really the case, then I won't be running any GPU work, since Lion is on my horizon :)
I'll check that link. Thanks.
