Just installed BOINC v4.45, and everytime it loads up it tries to connect to a local host and cannot. I had no problems with the older version whatsoever. Could someone help me?

Could you post the exact message you are getting (from the 'messages' tab) please?
Try waiting for a couple of minutes, and then file - select computer - localhost. The problem is that the manager sometimes tries to contact the daemon before the daemon has opened the ports to listen. The manager then does not try again unless prompted manually.

Or is BOINCmanager not even starting up for you?
