I think she said something

I think she said something about "joined-up thinking". Could be a major clue right there. Perhaps when SETI comes back on line, and so she can [strike]escape the heck[/strike] ease on out of here ! :-0

Cheers, Mike.

I have made this letter longer than usual because I lack the time to make it shorter ...

Welcome to the area between

Welcome to the area between my ears - which by happy coincidence is also the bit I delusionally refer to as “my brainâ€

The following will give you some idea of how it works and how best to avoid dealing with it in the future... Things may of course improve following the lobotomy, kindly on offer to all seticastaways next door (to get us through these traumatic times)... but the following clues were posted pre-treatment... and being an unknown quantity both to myself and Einsteinians... some explanation might prove helpful :)

Quote:
...joined-up thinking is where things fall apart

Firstly (with regards joined-up thinking)... To get myself off to a flying start I hitched my thinking to the impressive thinking that went before it and was left languishing in the realms of physics.

Yes... you are right to run – be afraid everyone :) - whether behind the couch is far enough Phil - remains to be seen...

Secondly comes the “is where†bit. Well... I'll come back to that...

Thirdly... Things fall apart never quite how I expect them to and this was ably demonstrated by Mike when he began chasing woolly jumpers in the hope he could help me get them back on my knitting needles. With everything unravelling nicely around me, I was able to relax with a good (albeit sad) end of times book and reflect on where it got its already 19 year old name from when it was new, sandwiched as it was between what Dr Melfi said 46 years later.

All of which has very little to do with the answer I am seeking and yet is also strangely portentous in almost every respect too... as if this thread was always meant to be and had been noisily written in the stars as it were... *pause for spooky sound effect*

But it would give the whole game away if anyone tugged on the correct thread in my woolly thinking at this point, so here's some wavy sheep to distract you :)

They're from Switzerland.

As I'm still busy knitting Shaun whilst quarantined...

and doing so upside down (which I haven't been for about 26 years) I have no use for them.

And then...

First and a halfly – there was this clue where I said: “And there may even be a very loose seti connection†(thanks tbret for the repair advice :)) But this is Einstein :) and he IS in here somewhere too... except I'm going to call him Captain Pugwash... I hope no one minds...? :)

Fourthly... there is an elephant.

To varying degrees... all relevant... :) a relevant elephant if you like :) and then Mike mentioned being feverish (possibly after a period contemplating hummingbirds (the size of elephants) spontaneously combusting) and did so I believe, without any idea of how close he'd meandered to one of my trailing give-the-whole-game-away stragglies :)

I'm afraid you're not getting out of this THAT easily... :)

THERE! *beam happily at everyone* Didn't I tell you some explanation might prove helpful!? :)

@TL - sleep well :)

CONGRATULATIONS Annie on your

CONGRATULATIONS Annie on your win!!!!

As for this game I am thinking a 'black hole' might fight some of those clues.

But the "spooky" part might just refer to Einsteins "spooky" comment about two distant objects reacting to the same stimulus at the same instant, ie "spooky action at a distance." This also refers to Quantum Entanglement, but I am way out of my depth at this point so I will stop guessing.

That can't be what that means, Phil. It only says "there's hope for you."

I've been thinking about their sheepish comments and it hasn't helped me get a hare closer to a guess.

I think that may be the best thing ever said about Annie (that I'm aware of).

Apropos of nothing: I have always hated being hot and always will, but I find that the older I get, the more I also hate being cold.

:)))))))) Okay let's try

:))))))))

Okay let's try to do this in order...

Hi Bill :) AHEM! Is that why seti ran out of work? :)))

Thank you Mikey :) Well the "who" for whom you are seeking will most definitely have probably maybe have had some entanglements with a black-hole-or-lot at some point I think in their field... of that I am almost sure I am certain, yes :) I would be VERY surprised if they had not... *pause to demonstrate how surprised* or that they had at least not at some point turned round (possibly slowly on a swivelly chair) and said: "aaah... black hole"

Quantumly...? *rabbit paralysed in headlights*

erm... I tried to look into that... then there were some pretty patterns followed by a quick lie down and I can't remember what I found out.

There's definitely reaction to the same stimulus wafting through this thread... *test claim by briefly elevating nose* *move upwind of Mike's paper bags* but none of them wafted at the same instant... like a little boy eleven days after a sixth birthday and a Yankee hitting the same number of home runs that there were before the fat man then dropped in weren't simultaneous and so couldn't be said to be quantumly entangled in the true spooky sense Captain Pugwash described, although they're all instrinsically linked nevertheless.

My! That was a long sentence wasn't it! :)

High praise indeed Phil :) Thank you from the bottom of my convoluted twistings :) My emulations, Oh Great Master, have paid off I see :)

Following hotly on the heels of your sigh... and possibly unbeknownst to you, you have made an inspired observation... one Captain Pugwash would have been very proud to see :)

And thank you too to both our Time Lords :) I hope when my foot got in the way of your materialisations that I didn't damage your Tardis's ... erm... Tardi... *quell rising grammar panic* Tardices...? in any way? Perhaps a thermostat getting knocked? Aaah... oh... erm... Red Herring anyone? :)

tbret... inspirational thinking :))) It's so tempting to leave you frolicking there... happily waving wavy sheep at Joey and his Anthrax... that I think I might... :) though do be careful where you put your feet... sheep, wherever they've come from, are sheep... and they're not the only animals in here at the moment... :)

Please wait here. Further instructions could pile up at any time. Thank you.

Tbret, you see that? (Points to sentence above) She said, "Oh Great Master"

You could learn something from the lady. Perhaps she has room for an apprentice. Just a suggestion of course, I'm only concerned about your education.
