Arggh .... bleary eyed .... good morning .... I was very heavily garkled earlier .... he's a really exuberant chap today .... maybe I'm just parannoyed but I think he was mocking me.
@Phil : Oh so well said indeed. They are the sort of people who wonder what a jet engine intake looks like up real close, scratch their heads over what 'soft edges' means, think that railway booms and signs are merely ornamental, ignore the "Don't Feed The Velociraptor" signs, examine balcony railings from the long-drop side, disconnect fire detectors so they can have a ciggie, or cant grasp why paint is wet. There is a subset of humans who have a brain lobe formatting every sensory input so as to add "except for me" to all instructive information. We ( medicos DownUnda ) have a phrase for such stupid & risk-clueless people : "Coroner's Meat". Nasty but true, because in the end it is all their own work. If the consequences were always purely limited to themselves I'd have utterly no interest in the topic ie. rock on Darwin.
@Anniet : Try George Gamov, the main guy who worked out why the Sun shone ( nuclear fusion, not coal ). When our nearest star runs out of fuel it will swell and Earth will become a sunspot.
Cheers, Mike.

Hiya :) So on Wednesday my first thought was: "ooh now that's a sore throat in a different place to a usual sore throat"... VERY hotly followed by my second thought which was: "wake everybody up and tell them - you know, for sympathy and stuff"... which is when I discovered I'd lost it. You can skip this bit if you want - it's not relevent :) ---> I've checked all the places it's likely to be *skip* and I suspect its *skip* exploded and sunk because I now have sore *skip skip* throats in my legs and arms and *skip* face, etc. You name it, there's a sore throat in it...[/skip]) but that's not why I'm telling you this. I love how Scott just pops in here with his good morning or whatever and totally ignores all the chaos going on around him.
I think he has a special setting on his Tardis :)
Let's see now... Hi Bill :)

I'd rather have a sucky sweet thank you :/ *step back discreetly... just in case*

What? A sucky sweet? You'd need a long tongue for sure... and a means of storing it in between sweets. Maybe winding it around your head? *Awkward silence* Obviously if it was my tongue I'd wind it round my own head *sink through floor*
Sorry... where were we...? Oh yes! It most certainly could :/
Never... ahem... losing sight of the fact that I'm a little of a lot hazy on much of the actual stuff that goes on in this thing they call fizzicks *beam at everyone* you are definitely in the right field Bill! :) Well done :) There are other fields of course, *cast eyes over fields* *reel eyes back in* all with quite a lot going on in them... probably adding a bit of confusion...
Okay... so where next...
Ah yes... I now interrupt my nonsense for an important message from Phil
*anniet's thought of the day - suggesting there's one every day - which there isn't*
Maybe you should rename your train buffs? I think we call them trainspotters in the UK. (I stand here - open to correction of course - for I am no expert on trains either :))
If you examine the two phrases after removing the word "train" from them ---> as demonstrated here: "buff" ; "spotter" then substitute a definition... how about we try these ones: (to polish/ possibly naked) ; (one who sees)... there might be the problem... and there... and a bit over there (apologies for facetiousness to victims of trains everywhere - and to their drivers.)
And good morning Mike :)

Sorry no... :) Not sure whether I should be saying that I want something hotter or cooler really... I'll let you know when I know :)
I feel a bit guilty to be honest... here you are, all adding to my knowledge :) and here I am... well... not doing much to reciprocate... So! I'm going to go away now. Then I'm going to be... coming back(allegedly)again... but you won't have to wait over 2000 years and I'll be nice, I promise... not all grumpy and judgemental :)
@Mikey :) Hi there! :) Back in a bit...
Please wait here. Further instructions could pile up at any time. Thank you.
Epiphany : Anniet is a teacher! She has to drag/stuff The Bloody English Language out/in of little twerps all day. For us I think this is an important piece of gathered intelligence ( I use those terms loosely ). She could even be - deep breath - Tilda Swinton in an online cameo here. But she is a fool to even yield or expect an atom of guilt or respect here. This is the nadir team, we have her now, we know her weakness now, she is - drumroll - A Caring Teacher !
I thought they'd gotten rid of those in the UK ?
Cheers, Mike.
( edit ) Speaking of fizzicks, I'll just quietly announce here the creation of my website for explanation of same. Now I've only just started, so I only have a front page to show for it so far. Just click on the building site and you'll see. I'm having to learn about 'content management' and stuff in my spare time. All the looky-nice stuff ....

In the pic "under construction" what/where are the buildings. I saw construction pics of the Washington monument in DC somewhere and the construction technique looks quite similar. Like the horse and wagon to give some perspective.
oooh ... it was one of a US state's legislature buildings, easily nineteenth century. I honestly don't recall where I pinched it from ...
Cheers, Mike.

( edit ) Strange how the brain works, I remembered Glen Campbell ie. Wichita Lineman - one my dearest favorites, neck and neck with Galveston ( which accidentally or otherwise became an anti-Vietnam anthem ). That was when they wrote real melodies, none of this SonyMash .... gosh I sound like my seniors did when I was a young smart-alec. Anyway Wichita got me to Kansas.
