I recently downloaded the latest software - I was using 4.19. I'm using Windows 98SE
1. The screensaver is great! Unfortunately 50% of the time it won't exit and it's necessary to Ctrl-Alt-Del and restart the computer.
2. There's (sometimes) a very annoying message that the BOINC Manager has to be closed before the machine shuts down.
3. I opted not to have BOINC run on startup - it runs anyway
These sort of things are enough that one is tempted to say: the hell with it!

Hm, I'm afraid that Rom doesn't test the BOINC client is not very much on Win9x/ME. Which version prcisely did you download? And did it all work with 4.19? I'm running a Win98SE machine @home and have never been satisfied with clients newer than 4.19. It's a somewhat slow machine (Celeron 600) nowadays and the BOINC Manager itself takes too much CPU time from crunching.
