Cruwl thing, but where can we will get that, have it disc or something else,
never a x86 architecture i think.
Greets, just spreding the news ;)
Thinking of nearby 110 Billion OPS/second, means for me it will be 11 times faster than my accual 4 cores I5-IVY Bridge CPU :D.
Lets buy it

Breakthrough !? A 1000 cores low power processor are invented

Here a whitepaper !? Could not tell much about it, but any anyone explain it futher ?
Which architecture will be used, or what means this "up to" 1.78 Trillion Ops/second ?
Not going to be of much use
)
Not going to be of much use for boinc I guess.
It's either competing with a GPU, or with a CPU.
For CPU usage it's going to be expensive, as each thread here requires about 0.25 GB of ram.
So you'd need 0,25TB of ram to be able to run 1000 threads if it'd be suitable to run x64 or x86 code.

So this thing needs to be specifically programmed to do something, so when a party like einstein@home wants to make use of it, it will do so and then end this project and continue on a single supercomputer and only ask for donations instead of asking for processing time.
When you want to make use of it, you need to bring a lot of money to first analyze the application that needs to be executed, in order to be able to be able to have this chip be efficiently programed. When you want to end up on top of the charts it'd be cheaper to just buy a whole lot of GPU's and set those to work.
