Running the latest client 4.24 under Linux-2.6.4, I noticed that the Boincmgr is eating about 24% of cpu time.
The Boinc-client was started "niced" and niced load went up to 100%, at starting of the boincmgr "niced load" dropped to about 60%, boincmgr took about 24% and the CPU went idle for about 45%.
The running clocks in the managerwindow slowed down dramaticly and the WU seemed nearly to halt. It took more than the 12hrs calculated at the start of the WU.
Only manual intervention in cpu load for the manager brought things back to normal and the WU was finnished quickly.
Re-starting and even rebooting showed no diff.
Wat is causing the manager to imply so much load (I did not run the Graphics !) ???

BOINC_Manager cpu load

Yep. That's definetly a bug in this client version, a busy waiting loop that causes the trouble. I think Rom Walton fixed this shortly ago or at least is working on it. Should be gone with the next version. After all, the 4.2x are still experimental / development.
