i have this problem for weeks now and i have asked in maybe hundreds (ok, almost :)) of boards for it, but i seem to be the only one who has it... Installation of boinc ver. 4.20 or higher crashes with the error: "Object required" just at the beginning. normaly i dont have any problems with my pc or this windows. Because nobody could help me for weeks i made a video to show how it looks :P i'm afraid that in some weeks you need ver. 4.2x to keep on crunching as you already need 4.19 for einstein@home today...

There is a Bug data base in the net, browsable without login. Look if it's mentioned there.
I first thought it was the usual 'German XPPro' problem, but I just read your post at S.G. so I think that's not.
