After flailing around, yet again, with Linux Ubuntu updates, and having no luck getting Boinc Manager or the ppa:costamagnagianfranco/boinc app to run after recent updates (re-installations), I was pleasantly surprised to find that Boinc Tasks JS 2.4.2 works on Ubuntu 23.10. The pleasing part is that the app worked out-of-the-box as a Snap installation from the App Center (aka Ubuntu Software in earlier versions). So I'm guessing that it will continue working on Ubuntu 24.04 when that comes out next month.
Ideas are not fixed, nor should they be; we live in model-dependent reality.

FYI, just so your aware, I'd recommend applying the Ubuntu updates to only Security Updates and to be notified of LTS versions only. Also, make sure you put a hold on your Nvidia driver.
Lately, there have been several updates to Ubuntu and Nvidia that run havoc with the Nvidia drivers and Ubuntu dependencies on lib's that may not be in the present situation.
And yes, my Boinc Tasks JS 2.4.2 works on Ubuntu 22.04 LTS also.
