This is not “SPAM†I accidentally posted this as a reply to an old post that many people may not read. The HP h8-1010 is not the dedicated BOINC machine (“OEMâ€) but if I can’t solve the problem (BOINC software lost on restart) I will only be using the machine about 5 minutes a day and not every day. Like an unused door stop if I can't run BOINC. Another computer is my main computer (Gateway NV 78) My name is Robert Lee Reynolds M@H gave me the account name of the computer when I started their project. Another cruncher said "Are you installing Boinc as a 'service' when you install it? If so STOP doing that!" I don't understand that so I don't think I am doing that. I do the same thing I have always done and never had a problem until just recently on one computer. Travis Desell of M@H thinks it may be a problem with a windows file damaged missing or corrupted causing an abnormal start up of windows. Seems like I saw BOINC come up for a second on start up then went away

BOINC software lost on restart

What happens if you try starting BOINC manually? As you have a Windows 7 machine, you could do this by opening Windows Explorer (what we used to call File Manager) and looking for boincmgr.exe. On a default install I think you would find that pretty likely at c:\Program Files\BOINC. Unless you have chosen to display file extensions, quite possibly it will just show up as boincmgr.
Anyway, if you double-click on that and report what you see it might help us to help you.
