I do not know about yours, but Boinc generates per day an average of 200 messages (only one line each, hopefully ) !!!!
How to get rid of some of them ?
The last week messages are OK to keep, but why keeping those of last month ?
And in a year from now, what will these messages weight on my disk ?
Is there a way to tell Boinc to be less talkative ?
I will glad to get these answers !
Regards
Alain

Just restart the bonic manager. It will start with a new empty log. I try to rember to suspend before I quit just to be on the safe side.

Alain,
First, Welcome to Einstein@Home. Exit Boinc completely and restart, OR reboot your computer if Boinc doesn't exit, and restart Boinc if it isn't set to start on logon. Like magic, old messages gone, new set starting.

Hi all, What I just
)
Hi all,
What I just started doing is to COPY ALL MESSAGES to the clipboard, open NotePad and paste them in that, and saved with a filename such as "!BOINC Msg Log.txt" (I use the exclamation point in the filename so it appears at or near the top of the directory's file list.) Then I zipped the file to make it smaller.
I can add new messages to the zipfile at any time. Should anything ever happen or should I ever need to post any error messages, I'll have them.
If you wish, you can transfere the zipfile to a floppy... if your computer is "old" enough to still have a floppy drive. Otherwise, the zipfile will be small enough not to matter being left on your hard drive.
