BOINC for iMac 5.10.45 Doesn't show graphics for Einstein but the graphics for SETI do show. Is this a problem with the new BOINC version or is this a problem with Einstein?

Thanks,

Steve

Hi!

Strange, it works for me, so at least it's not a general problem.

I wonder:

a) Did it work before you upgraded to 5.10.45?

b) What exactly is the symptom: is the graphics button disabled, or is it enabled but nothing happens when you push it?

Yes it worked fine before I

Yes it worked fine before I upgraded to this version. The button is enabled but the graphics for the project (Einstein) don't show. However, the graphics for STI show fine.

I have the same thing on my 400 MHz G3 iMac. On my system, the "Show graphics" button is disabled. To tell you the truth, I never really bothered to notice if the button worked before reading this thread, so I can't tell you if it worked before.

To me, it's not a big deal (as you might have guessed), as I figure that any graphics will take CPU power away from crunching.

No clue what exactly the

No clue what exactly the issue is with 5.10.45. I suggest trying the MacOS development Client 6.1.16 from http://boinc.berkeley.edu/download_all.php. The older 5.8.17 is also still there in case you rather want to switch back.
