New updated BOINC client 7.8.3 has been released to fix many of the bugs in prior 7.8.2.

Not recommended for Spanish language yet.

Just a small note of

Just a small note of caution.

My understanding is that there are new directions in the 7.8 series.  It might take some time for the new stuff to be properly tested and debugged.  If you understand and are comfortable with this and are prepared to have things be different or have different behaviour from what you're used to, then fine.  I'm sure the feedback about any problems you encounter will be appreciated.  If you've already started on 7.8.1 or 7.8.2, it probably makes sense to move to 7.8.3 to see if existing problems have been rectified, but be prepared to perhaps find some new ones.

If you are still on the final version of the previous 7.6 series and don't particularly want to risk stability, you might be better staying there for a little longer.  As an observer/user of BOINC on many different machines for over 12 years, my experience has been that it does pay off if you wait for at least a couple of so-called 'stable/recommended' versions to be produced and the bugs found and ironed out before you jump in, if stable/predictable behaviour is your goal.

Cheers,
Gary.

You are correct.....as usual!! Version 7.8.3 has 90% of the bugs worked out but if one of the remaining bugs affects you it can be a bad thing.
