I'm sharing between SETI, Einstine and Astropulse, My computer is slow as heck and when I go to task manager on XP, it shows that the CPU usage for Astropulse and Einstine is more than 60% of the CPU time. My profile for these services says that it's not to use any CPU time when I'm using the computer SETI is not showing in my task manager.... What am I doing wrong??

Where did you set these preferences? In the same venue (default, home, work, school) as that the computer lives in? Are you using the local preferences?

Easily checked all, please exit BOINC and restart it. Then post the startup messages from BOINC Manager->Advanced view->Messages->Copy all messages.

You may not be doing anything wrong....when you are checking the computer is only doing one thing, checking itself. That takes so little cpu time that Boinc is back up and running itself almost before the screen comes up showing what is running. Now there is a setting you can set to help with that..how long before Boinc starts back up after the computer is busy.
These are the two settings on the webpage:
Suspend work while computer is in use? no
'In use' means mouse/keyboard activity in last 3 minutes

You can see my settings, I personally like Boinc running all of the time so I have it set to no on the first line making the second irrelevant for me. These settings are under your account, and then computing preferences on the main webpage.
