hi everyone,

it would be nice if someone, more or less official, from the einstein project would write a forums-message to the artikle ;)
--> http://www.heise.de/tp/r4/artikel/33/33148/1.html

why ?

- add missings in the artikle like a simple HOWTO-contribute
- fight CT/VT ( Conspiracy Theorie / Verschwörungs Theorie)

- tell bit of internas not published in the artikle ;)

greats and regards to all

I concur. As of now, most of the messages are.... not favourable.

AFAIK the first pulsar was

AFAIK the first pulsar was discovered by a girl student, Miss Jocelyn Bell, in 1968. She called the attention of her thesis advisor, prof.Antony Hewish of Cambridge University, to a signal peak appearing every 24 hours in a plot of a fixed antenna radiotelescope. He got a Nobel prize for the discovery done by the girl. I think she is now Astronomer Royal in the UK, as she clearly deserves.

Hi! I'm not so sure it's

Hi!

I'm not so sure it's worth it to get into the Telepolis discussion forum.

There seem to be two main criticisms against E@H there:

1) the guys who think it's not worth to generate so and so many tons of CO2 for finding pulsars or GW. How do you want to argue against it? It's a question of personal priorities & values.

2) the guys who don't know a thing about the mathematics behind general relativity but who are 100% sure that Einstein was wrong and that the whole theory of GR is a big piece of junk. Never argue with idiot because they will drag you to their level and then beat you with experience :-). Seriously, I think arguing with them is a waste of time.

On www.setiquest.org I found

On www.setiquest.org I found a reference to a msnbc.com article, with too many advertisements to link, quoting an Astrophysical Journal article on the use of pulsars to determine the mass of the planets and the position of the solar system's barycenter. The research was done in Germany and Australia and the radiotelescopes involved were Parkes, Effelsberg and our Arecibo. Very interesting.
