    Then it is weird. I have not experienced completed tasks disappearing.
    If you have a look in the event log in the Boinc manager window (Advanced - Event Log), does it say anything around the time the tasks disappeared?

      Thanks Logforme. That helped me understand what has happened. I had misunderstood a date field ("sent" means sent to me, not sent to server). All ok now. No longer discouraged!
