Looking at the server logs for the last contact on a Android 8 phone it doesn't seem like Einstein@home recognizes Android 8, there is no app with a plan class to send to Android 8 phones and opting in for beta work doesn't fix it. One of the devs needs to look at this to get it working.
Hi, I got a brand new OnePlus 6 and the Boinc client doesn't connect to the Einstein@home project. My password is correct, network too. Other projects run with the Android client. What do I do wrong?
It seems that E@H doesn't work with Android 8 devices. I have a OnePlus 5T and I have the same problem (Android 8.1.0). In this moment it's working for World Community Grid and Asteroids@Home.

If not you: we have a known bug that we're trying to work on. It seems new Android users can't connect. Existing android users who are already connected may be okay, but if that's not the case, please let me know.
We have some idea of what's going on but it will take some time. All I can ask is for your patience. Once we have it fixed we'll try to post something in this thread to let our volunteers know. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Is anyone successfully

Is anyone successfully downloading new work with Android BOINC version 7.16.3?
I purchased a new Samsung Tab 'A' running Android 9. Work downloaded, ran, and validated under BOINC v7.4.53
I downloaded and installed a major Android update this morning, and more work downloaded, and is still running.
I upgraded to BOINC v7.16.3. Previous work is still running, tablet says it's requesting new work, bit Einstein server says
No new work has been received. https://einsteinathome.org/host/12797337
Purpose of purchase was to test the new version of BOINC ...

Sorted - persuaded the tablet to request
Requesting new tasks for CPU and Mali-G71
and it got some CPU work. Seems like I got a bonus GPU.

It'd be nice to have OpenCL application for a bonus Mali GPU too.

Richard,
Einstein@Home - Binary Radio Pulsar works on Android 9 using Android Boinc 7.14.1
But after I upgraded the phone to Android 10, I have a message in the logs the app is blocked by a OS version check from running on Android 10.
Perhaps a server side change?
I'm not aware of any changes

I'm not aware of any changes in that area. Could you please paste the exact log message? Also, which log are we talking about?
