Apparently in with several other updates, the BOINC app updated on one of my Android devices. Since the update to a newer client version, I've stopped getting any work.
That is because the new BOINC app now reports the neon feature of your phone as 'asimd' which the server does not know. I tried to add it as an alternative but that didn't work. We'll discuss how to proceed. There may be a Client update necessary.
The issue with the newer Android Client not getting work was not resolved by the BOINC developers. The best advice I can give is to go back to an earlier version. Here is a similar discussion with links to a working version: http://boinc.berkeley.edu/dev/forum_thread.php?id=11076
After "updating" my android device to an earlier version of BOINC, I am able to get work units. I do, however, still come up with the computational errors for about 1/3 of the work units being processed. Is this still an issue with the android app or is there some issue with my device? I can't really see it being my device since numerous work units get processed successfully but ???
It depends if the device is pie or non-pie. There are some android projects that will run on one and the other. I have a Nexus 7 and Nexus 9. Many projects run on only one. Universe runs on my Nexus 9.
tried a few things but couldn't get it to run on my samsung s6 (upped ram to %100, made all 8 cores available, cleaned background) but never could get new work. I've also stopped taking new tasks on my main pc and have that going full time on primegrid but still am working einstein on my tablet and laptop. Maybe their will be a fix by the time samsung s8 comes out.

Hi Christian Beer,
I am also affected by a change in the BOINC client for Android some time ago. After an update it just stopped getting new tasks.
The following processor features are reported by the BOINC client:
"Processor features: fp asimd evtstrm crc32"
Is there any news or eta when the BOINC client for Android will work (again) with "asimd"? Or is there anything I can do to help / test?
Best regards,
aleber
