Installed on an old first-generation Galaxy Tab with 1 Gb of memory; the application refused to fetch tasks until I upped the RAM limit to a value above the default of 50%. I then set it back to 50% and it kept computing...
My apologies for being confused for I am. Although I have an Android devise, I am concerned that because I am on a $30.00 recharge up front rather than a plan, my money will quickly disappear. I can not see how this could work for me. If I change to a plan, it would be unsustainable paying for a cable connection of $79.00/m for my normal desktop machines and it appears that I would need to take out a separate plan of another $79.00 for WiFi connection. Clearly this is too much to spend on computers. I would be better off by paying this amount to a reputable Medical Research Company and I would not have to worry about the Electric costs either. Am I missing something, is there a set up that will allow me to use my Android device without all this basic Monthly costs for BOINC purposes?
Installed BOINC on my Samsung Galaxy S4. (Easy)
Works pretty well once you get all of your settings set correctly.
Does drain battery a lot faster when left running all day. My battery will usually last 2-3 days depending on use. With BOINC running Einstein@home it will last a day.
Been running Einstein@home for 3 days now with only 375 total credit. Not sure how to check how many work units that is. My phone has 4 cores but only using 2 right now and limiting CPU usage to 60%. Will try to run 100% for a day with all 4 cores and see what it can do.

Alas no it would seem.
One way or another an internet connection is required and hence cost. I'm not aware of any non-cellular, non-WiFi method ......
Could you add a WiFi card ( a one-off purchase ) to whatever machine you are communicating to us with now ?
Cheers, Mike.
I have made this letter longer than usual because I lack the time to make it shorter ...

Go to your account and click on the link next to "Computers on this account" then locate the computer/device you want to check and on the left side click on the link named tasks. This will show you all tasks assigned to that computer/device. Tasks are visible for 7 days (I think) after they have validated and are then purged from the online database.
I seem to have a strange problem. I add E@H, my toshiba thrive will process one WU but won't download any more tasks. The Event Log says I have to free -0.0 MB of memory??
Remove the project add it back and it will run once. I now have 2 complete WUs, they take about 36 hrs. The second one validated and got 62.5 credits so it's not a significant part of my contribution. I'm doing it more to experiment with Android.
It tells me i have no disk space and i have to free 0.0 mb to be able to compute. This phone has just been wiped and all i have installed on it is octave. So i am pretty sure i have space left.
He also says i have a max memory usage of 0 GB which is absurd since i have my max disk usage at 100 GB
He tells me now he needs 19.7 more megabytes and i have zero megabytes left. I do not think he is correct. I tinkered with the settings and got no result. About the "free O.O mb" message i have had the same with oproject.

I've got two work units of FightAIDS@Home for WCG that got computation errors. Still on my phone. Presumably will be reported later.
