Any clues - I have tried project resetting and using the latest client's etc. all the same. Seti is running fine on the same platform - using Boinc 4.45

You are quite correct, when did this start producing problems for Einstien?, I have been running Burp for quite a while.

More importantly what's the fix (I am about to have a trawl throught both sites boards, so apologies if the answer to this is obvious).

It can happen on any project. You've just been lucky enough not to see it yet.

Nothing you can do. It's a BOINC problem that is supposedly fixed.

It is possible to edit the

It is possible to edit the client_state.xml file (stop BOINC first). The most recent incarnation will add an extra line with the BURP URL just before the line with the correct URL. Delete the line with the BURP URL. Save the changes, and restart BOINC.

The previous incarnation actually changed the relevant URL, and it had to be hand edited to get it back to what it was supposed to be.

Are you talking about the bug where a project thinks it's another John? That's a different problem altogether.

When BURP invades the slot folder occupied by another project, I don't believe it's due to an improper URL.

Hi All - Thanks for your

Hi All - Thanks for your comments and advice.

I detached from Burp - as the project is down at the moment and the problem resolved itself.

$64,000 question - will reattaching when it's back up still cause problems ?
