Am running BOINC Manager ver. 4.45 w/ Einstein & SETI projects. Power momentarily failed during a file transfer -- that doesn't happen often, so I don't have a UPS. After rebooting, all tabs in the Manager were blank. Do I have to reconnect both projects? Couldn't find anything on the BOINC Wiki site on this topic. Thanks.

All BOINC Tabs Blank After Power Failure
)
Interesting question. Have never had this particular experience, but will try to find something about it ...

Does the manager show

Does the manager show disconnected in the status bar or title bar? Is boinc.exe running?
If you start BOINC.exe and it immediately crashes, you are going to have to either spend a great deal of time figuring out how the files are corrupted and fixing them, or you are going to have to attach to the projects again.
If disconnected shows in the title bar or the status bar, then try file - select computer - ONE OF (leave everything blank), localhost, 127.0.0.1

Once is too often. I recommend anyone running a computer use a UPS.
Here's an overnight update on

Here's an overnight update on this problem. Even with all tabs blank and nothing displaying on the status bars of any tab, one or more of the engine(s) continued to execute after posting this issue. I could tell because Norton's CPU Usage monitor jumped to 100%, which usually occurs when "classic" SETI or any of the BOINC projects are functioning. Had another outage after I went to bed.
First thing this morning, BOINC still showed blank tabs, but ZoneAlarm was prompting to give it access to the Internet, which I did. After that activity, display on the tabs was restored. Things now appear to be normal.

Glad you're back on the normal side.
Heffed is right - one power outage is too many. I had the same thing last night, and it trashed a package I was doing for LHC@Home, giving me the same error you saw - only from LHC.
When I reconnected this morning, I got results similar to yours, so I guess everything's cool for now.
(OA makes note to purchase UPS) ...

After thinking a bit about
)
After thinking a bit about what I experienced and OceanArcher also saw, I'm now wondering if this is a subtle bug in BOINC Manager. Namely, when a transfer is aborted by a power outage, the application doesn't refresh its display until the next transfer occurs. That can certainly be confusing for novices such as myself. The only real clue I had that it was still "alive" was when CPU usage peaked out and stayed there.
Sometimes when 4.45 is
)
Sometimes when 4.45 is starting up, the manager tries to talk to the ddaemon before the daemon isready to listen. This causes a completely blank display and a message about disconnected on the status bar.
