Any chance of making 1 week/2 week an option on Einstein@Home preferences?
What for?
BM
I'm better able to manage my RAC with the tighter deadlines.
Care to elaborate?
It's no big deal, but, I can turn off machines, especially during the daytime hours when electric rates are double. So I check my RAC production and decide when and what to turn off.
I could just sand bag the 14 day for 7 days and get the same effect but I figured a preference would be easier on my end. Probably a monster on your end.
If that was the reason, then they could have done it at any time. Why now? It was implied that the longer turnaround was a result of the S4 series wu's, but if they have the same CPU load, that is not a valid reason.
I prefer a short turnaround time, it discourages the wu hoarders that slow everything down.

Actually, I'm on a budget and try to see what $100. of electric/month can be converted into.

Big news for me and many others running slow machines on dial-up.
Big, big news. Big thanks!
Really hope this works out.

This information is probably worthy of a notice on the main page. Some folks don't care to venture into the Cafe very often, if at all.

I'm curious to know if the deadline extension may be due to an increase in crunch time now or in the near future.

We are not planning any significant changes in the WU computation time.

Thanks for the quick answer ;-)

If the S4 units have similar crunch times, then why change the expiry date?

just for users who can't crunch in 1 week and others who prefer bigger wu cache.
