Also a bit sceptical about defrag, as my errors, refered to earlier, happened on a newly built computer with clean 160 GB HDD, and even now it only has Win 2000, BOINC with three projects, AV s/ware, firefox and TV card drivers and software, size 157 free 153 therefore only ~4 GByte used.
Well the WU completed successfully. The only thing I did was compress the files, not sure which ones, but after the defrag none of them show up blue (indication of compressed file) so it must have done something, even if fragmentation wasn't the issue.
