The last words were...wife, lover and I added squeeze. How is squeeze related you ask....well squeeze is slang for lover. You could have a 'main' squeeze that could mean your primary lover, or even a squeeze 'on the side' if you are adventurous.
During the war to remove Iraq from Kuwait--Desert Storm--the "brevity code" for an incoming missile strike among US forces was "lightning, lightning, lightning". A letter home from a certain US Marine staff sergeant, who in civilian life was a University of Chicago-trained statistician working for my then employer, noted with some dismay how much longer the brevity code was than the thing in plain English.
As security required him not to disclose directly the word "lightning", he employed a transparent talk-around mentioning Ben Franklin.
His letters home, some scrawled on MRE containers, were much circulated at my employer, then as now the world-dominant supplier of microprocessors.
Had I been the one to respond to journey, I would have said sorcerer, an instrumental by The Eagles used as the theme for my favorite British science fiction radio show.
Aside: it's a good thing I decided to post this. The thread probably would have locked itself soon.
