Also, it would be easier to see everything going on in Task Manager if you showed the Base Priority column... ;-) That way you can instantly see what the priority is without having to right-click...
Mostly... It'll do... Obviously the main app is the one with the higher memory usage, but if you didn't know any better, it wouldn't be explicitly clear... :-P

Some old jack mackerel would probably be sufficient... Actually, anything in the tuna, mackerel, or salmon varieties would work. If you have some fresh flounder, bass, or trout, save that for cooking...

I used 12 weeks over the Sell By Date herring... that'll make an impact. :)

So the graphics application should run at Normal priority under BOINC 6.
It just shouldn't take up all the available CPU cycles. (How you stop that is another question, since the computing thread still runs at Low priority so it'll always give up all the available CPU cycles to the thread running at Normal priority. ;-))

The scientific application runs fine here, but the graphic won't show up. Every time I click to "show graphics", the graphic app pops up then immediately error out.
Now waiting to see the speed...
PS: Why don't we use SSE code in win app? Is this due to any technical reason?

Maximized in 5.8.16 is still low priority, 0%.
Ergo, 5.10.xx bug that 6.x.x inherited...
Like I said, I stay with 5.8.16 for some good reasons... ;-)

Function of my crappy onboard graphics? Not the first time I've run into something like this.
I don't know. I just run the software. I don't pretend to understand it. And it's getting late so my brain is mushier than usual.

Perhaps, but I wouldn't think it should take all that much to run it... It should offload most processing to the GPU, I would think...
For comparison purposes, I have an nvidia GeForce 6800GT (AGP, 256MB)...

So it was a red herring?

More likely a green one :-)
