I have now processed

I have now processed successfully two work units completely under 4.13. 87840951 has validated and 87815480 is pending.

I'm happy to continue to help out, but, please forgive my ignorance: would someone please explain what "stay on the anonymous platform path" means?

This means that if you want to test the next beta version as well, you should leave things as they are and NOT delete the app_info.xml file. When the next beta is released shortly, you can unpack it over the current beta.

Thanks, Bikeman. I now know a little more, and will do as you suggest. However, I still would like to know what the words mean (anonymous platform path) and how they relate to what you just told me. I'm just trying to get conversant with the jargon; maybe it will help me to help the project more intelligently (a large order, I know).

I see. When using BOINC, usually the science application (app for short) is obtained using the following "protocol": The client will tell the server what platform it is running on, e.g. something like "32 Bit Linux for Intel processors". The server will then lookup this platform and if this platform is supported for the project, it will send the right app to the client. That is, the client's3 platform is identified by its name,

However, if BOINC detects the presence of an app_info.xml file in the projects folder on the client, it knows that the client already has the right app (here: a beta app) and will repport back to the server that the client is using the "anonymous platform". Well, it's just a way of saying: don't care about the client's real platform, the app is already on the client.

Thanks again, Bikeman. That's now much clearer. Your explanation is greatly appreciated.
