Actually you could hide in the lava tubes but if it's an active one you better hope you don't last long enough to be cooked!!!

'Cooking' requires water. It's: 'roasted'.

They just posted a Winter

They just posted a Winter storm warning

 But it is supposed to be a long the I 35 corridor. If that holds the snow will be less miserable. Worst case is 5-6 inches. So I am not going anywhere on Tuesday.

Tuesday Morning.  Feb 18, 2025

So far, I can still see the tops of some grass.  They have promised more "light" snow for the afternoon.

I suspect, unless the afternoon fall is severe, my locale has missed the show stopper snow fall.

It was supposed to be heavier south of I-35 (which heads more diagonal across the middle of Kansas).

Maybe that happened.

===edit===

It is -1 F so the cold is definitely with us.

-1F (-18°C) Brrrr...

It's 13 years now since we had (still) lower temps (-7 F / -22°C) here for the last time... with an all-time record of -29.5°C (-21F) somewhen in February 1929.

It's a balmy 45F in San Francisco this morning going up to the 60's this afternoon. No rain scheduled, nor did we fly over any burnt areas on landing.
