Should be ok again now. The webinterface seems to be quite slow now, tho, or is it just me? Could be caused by increased upload traffic now it's working again.

thats est or -5 gmt.
and yes the whole site is slow, with the exception of the front page. it took me 5 minutes to load the forums, load this thread, and get to this post page. i HATE spammers >-0 i run a joomla site with comments, youd be amazed at the amount of spam i get every day so i feel the projects pain.
edit: i forgot to add, i started using akismit for the comment spam, it still shows up in the backend but never gets posted, and even with my bad vision this is exactly why they created captcha, i like the ones with the audio option tho, or atleast a very high contrast layout.
seeing without seeing is something the blind learn to do, and seeing beyond vision can be a gift.
Things seem good now. Most of my backlog cleared up on its own overnight, and the stuff that was pending cleared very promptly under manual stimulation.
My thanks to whoever was involved in fixing it up.
Einstein@home is currently suffering from some kind of "spamming" attack (massive amount of user accounts being created apparently automatically). This explains the sometimes high load of the servers. We are currently working on ways to block this (some may have already noticed the captcha added to profile modifications), and a typo in a hastily modified config file stopped the upload handler from working for some hours. Sorry for that.

Sounds more like a DDoS (Distributed Denial of Service) attack as you have to wonder what the gain is about this spam attack, when it results in taking the project down.
